Name: Sour Cream Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shortening (part butter)
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 cups flour (start with 5 1/2, add more when you
roll them)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup sour cream
- Icing
- 1 stick of margarine
- 1 box of sifted powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- enough milk to be able to spread it easily
- Mix until well-blended
Instructions:
- Cream shortening and sugar
- Add eggs
- Stir together dry ingredients
- Then alternate dry ingredients with sour cream to make a dough you can handle
- Roll 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick
- Cut with cookie cutters and bake 7 - 10 minutes at 425 degrees
- Cool and ice
