Name: Sesame Fried Rice
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3-4 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 cups cooked rice (white or brown), preferably leftover and previously chilled
- 1 garlic clove finely minced
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- Optional: chopped green onions, any other cooked veggies or cooked meat
Instructions:
- Prepare egg mixture first by beating eggs, soy sauce and 1 teaspoon sesame oil together in a small bowl.
- Heat 3 tablespoons sesame oil in pan on medium-high.
- Add cooked rice and fry until somewhat translucent or at least until hot.
- Sprinkle salt to taste.
- Turn heat to low and add egg mixture to rice.
- Stir to coat all rice and continue to stir constantly until all egg is cooked.
- Once cooked, add sesame seeds and other garnishes if using.
Yield: 3-4 servings
Comments: 2/25/2026 - I followed the recipe fairly closely with about
3 1/2 cups of cooked white rice. When adding the egg mixture, maybe I turned the
heat too low. It took a long time for the egg to be cooked. I used 2 green onions
with the sesame seeds for garnish.
