Name: French Toast
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 8 slices of bread
- Butter
Instructions:
- Beat the eggs slightly
- Add the salt, the milk, and the vanilla
- Heat a griddle and melt the butter on it
- Dip the bread into the egg and milk mixture
- Brown the bread on each side on the hot griddle
- Serve sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, and garnished with bright red jelly
- Top with applesauce, with maple syrup, or with pie cherries, sweetened,
slightly thickened with cornstarch, and flavored with lemon.

Comments: You can substitute 1 tablespoon of rum for the vanilla.
9/2/2024 - I made a half batch for breakfast. The griddle worked better with burner setting
7, than at 5.
