This page shows two images I took of the night sky above Curaçao. It also has maps of the constellations and stars appearing in my images.
The Map |
My Sky Image |
---|---|
The first image shows a slice of the sky with Jupiter and the head of Taurus at
the top, Orion and Lepus in the middle, and Sirius and its constellation Canis Major at
the bottom. These stars are visible from Maryland but are halfway down the sky and
not as bright.

My Southern Sky Image |
---|---|
The second image shows Sirius and Canis Major
at the left, and the southern star Canopus at the bottom right.
Columba, the Dove, is in the center
In all the sky, only Sirius is brighter than Canopus.
