The older man in this photo is James Henry Schroder.

The woman could be his wife Mabel. However, the note written on the back of the photo, which is attached below, says the woman is Myrtle. James and Mabel Schroder had a daughter named Myrtle, but this image cannot be of her. She was born in 1909 and would only have been 6 years old when he died in 1915. The two young men are not clearly seen and were not identified. Perhaps they were his two sons with his first wife. one of whom was Frederick Walter Schroeder.

The photo was provided to me by Nancy Schroder and she got it from Terry Schroder. The original photo apparently is held by descendants of Mary Grace VanOrder Piper, James Schroder’s half sister.

A bearded man smoking a pipe stands near the center of this winter photo. Next to
him is a younger woman and there;s a young man on each side.
          All are holding rifles.

This came from the Piper side of the family. The x’s above
figures identified Myrtle & Uncle Jim Schroder of Mountain, WI as
written on the back of the original photo

I removed the X’s mentioned from the photo.
