Carl Holm, Albert Holm, and Pat Schneidewend in summer 1956. Carl and Helen’s sons Albert and Carl are cleaning the old mortar off the bricks in the background so they can be reused in construction projects by their employer, Harry Schneider. They earned a penny for each brick cleaned. Mr. Schneider’s wife, Frances, was Carl’s guitar teacher.
Pat lived in Chicago and was visiting her grandparents, the Wahlbergs, during the summer.
